My secret to headache free couponing at the checkstand!

I think that couponing can be easy or hard depending on how you prepare out your trips. I prepare like this after I know what I would like to buy on the trip.

First have your coupons organized and in stacks of 4 like coupons per item.  Second not being weird about doing multiple orders at check out…Unless you have the I only need 4 of these at once storage problem that I have…and that is fine! Third write a list with quantities of each that goes into each “order/purchase”.  I now can send my husband if I do this and he has no objections. He gets a cart places 3 of the shopping baskets in the cart and organizes as he goes.

I use 6 types of savings on this trip, Yes 6, and multiples discounts on most items!

1. Manufacturer coupons

2. Target coupons

3 Catalina’s ( manufacturer coupons that print out when you get your receipt usually based on your purchases)

4. Target Cart Wheel

5. 5%  off with my target DEBIT card ( which is attached to my bank account and cost me nothing)

6. Clearance Items

You can use 1 target, 1 cartwheel and 1 manufacturer per Item + your 5% red card savings  according to targets coupon policy ( clearance only adds to the sweet deals).

I bought:

7 suave hair care products

3 toll house chocolate chips

12 Hormel snack wraps

3 warm and crunchy Quaker cereals

2- up & up Adult gummy vitamins 150 count

So here is my shopping trip…  Order # 1

BUY

3-Warm and crunchy Quaker oats cereal $2.54 each.

2-Suave Professionals $2.98 each (shampoo or conditioner)

6-Hormel Rev snack wrap $1.79 Each

Use these discounts:

1 $1.50 OFF 1 TARGET COUPON ( target.com) ( they allowed one per order) Making them $1.23 Each (you could have bought 1 making it free…But even I forget to read the fine print sometimes)

Target cart wheel 5% off any up & up vitamin item giving me another  $0.82 off + a $5.00 Gift card ((Target.com or cartwheel app) Making them  $4.28 each that is about 50% off)

USE $5.00 gift card from order# 1

Out of pocket paid $3.08

With out coupons the total for all 3 was $77.58.

We paid $29.57 using the $5.00 gift card from purchase # 1.

We saved $48.01 on this trip. That’s over 60% on this trip!

Being prepared made what looks like a hectic trip super easy. Each shopping basket had the order in it and the coupons were already in bundles for each basket.  Doing  that took the headache out of trying to fidget at the check stand.  She scanned the items, then coupons, Next CartWheel (which can be done on your phone or use your computer and print the bar code out) and finally my debit card and the last 5% off.  My husband said doing this made it the easiest trip he did and the checker thanked him for being organized.
